We are EXCITED to WELCOME YOU to MyZone for the 2025-26 School Year!!

WHAT IS MYZONE?

MyZone is a community partnership, after-school program for middle school students. MyZone is hosted by Northwest Christian Church. This is the 11th year that MyZone has been operating. MyZone is open to all middle school students in the Newberg area regardless of where they attend school. Public, private and homeschool students are all welcome at MyZone.

WHEN IS MYZONE?

MyZone happens every Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.  MyZone follows the Newberg School District Calendar. When Newberg schools are in school, MyZone is open. When Newberg schools do not have school, there is no MyZone. 
 

HOW DOES MY STUDENT GET TO MYZONE?

Chehalem Valley MS and Mountain View MS both have buses after school drop students off at Northwest Christian Church for MyZone. All students must have a signed parent/guardian permission to attend MyZone and to ride school provided transportation to MyZone and home from MyZone. Students may also walk, bike or get a ride to and from MyZone.

HOW DOES MY STUDENT GET HOME AFTER MYZONE?  

Newberg School District has buses that pick students up at 5:00 pm and takes them home. For more details about transportation to and from MyZone, talk to your school office. Students may also walk, bike or get picked up from MyZone.

WHAT DO STUDENTS DO AT MYZONE?

The reason it is called MyZone is because students are provided several options or “zones” for different activities. Students can play games like basketball, volleyball, and wall ball in the gym. They can learn how to cook, play music, and make art. Students can hang-out outside, toss a football or kick a soccer ball. And, there is always the option to relax, enjoy snacks or get help with homework. And then… there’s video games (X-box, PS4, Nintendo Switch), 9-square, foosball, gaga-ball, corn hole and lots of smiles and laughter.

WHAT ARE THE SAFETY GUIDELINES?

MyZone follows all Code of Conduct rules at both Mountain View and Chehalem Valley Middle Schools. If a student receives discipline at school, they may not be allowed to attend MyZone. If a student is suspended from school, the student will not be allowed to attend MyZone until they are allowed to return to school.

MyZone DOES NOT ALLOW…

• Weapons of any kind
• Possession or use of any kind of drugs or alcohol
• Fighting, bullying, or intimidation of any kind
• Inappropriate physical contact (grabbing, slapping, touching, etc.)
• Offensive language, hand gestures, or any other kind of obscene motions
• Taking pictures of anyone at MyZone (with or without permission) NOTE: NCC Staff may take promotional photos of MyZone activities but will only use those photos with parent/guardian consent.
• Inappropriate use of any technology, including personal cell phones and laptop computers. (students are encouraged to stay off cell phones while at MyZone)

Students can be suspended or permanently removed from MyZone by the MyZone Director. Schools and parents will be notified when a student has been removed from MyZone for any length of time.

For additional student safety, outside doors are locked and all visitors must check-in with MyZone staff prior to entering the program. The facility has separate bathrooms available for both the students and staff. Students are only allowed to use the bathroom one at a time.
 
Parents may pick-up students any time during MyZone. However, once a student leaves MyZone, they are not allowed to return the same day.

HOW DO I SIGN MY STUDENT UP FOR MYZONE?

All students must have registered online via this form and have parent/guardian permission in order to attend MyZone. This permission slip is also required to ride the bus to and from MyZone. You can get a permission slip from the main office at MVMS or CVMS or from Northwest Christian Church.

 Estamos EMOCIONADOS de darle la BIENVENIDA a MyZone para el año escolar 2025-26!

¿QUE ES MyZONE?

MyZone es un programa comunitario para estudiantes de secundaria. MyZone está auspiciada por la Iglesia Cristiana del Noroeste. Este es el décimo año que MyZone opera. MyZone está abierto a todos los estudiantes de secundaria en el área de Newberg, independientemente de dónde asistan a la escuela. Los estudiantes de las escuelas públicoas, privadas y que reciben educación en el hogar son todos bienvenidos en MyZone.

 ¿CUÁNDO ES MyZONE?

MyZone ocurre todos los lunes a jueves de 3:30 a 5:00 p.m. MyZone sigue el calendario del distrito escolar de Newberg. Cuando las escuelas de Newberg están abiertas, MyZone está abierta. Cuando las escuelas de Newberg no tienen escuela, no existe MyZone.

 ¿CÓMO LLEGA MI ESTUDIANTE A MYZONE?

Las escuelas Chehalem Valley MS y Mountain View MS tienen autobuses después de la escuela que dejan a los estudiantes en Northwest Christian Church para MyZone. Todos los estudiantes deben tener un permiso firmado por el padre/tutor para asistir a MyZone y viajar en el transporte proporcionado por la escuela a MyZone y a casa desde MyZone. Los estudiantes también pueden caminar, andar en bicicleta o recibir transporte por los padres hacia y de regreso a casa desde MyZone.

 ¿CÓMO LLEGA MI ESTUDIANTE A CASA DESPUÉS DE MYZONE?

El Distrito Escolar de Newberg tiene autobuses que recogen a los estudiantes a las 5:00 pm y los llevan a casa. Para obtener más detalles sobre el transporte hacia y desde MyZone, hable con la oficina de su escuela. Los estudiantes también pueden caminar, andar en bicicleta o ser recogidos en MyZone.

 ¿QUÉ HACEN LOS ESTUDIANTES EN MYZONE?

La razón por la que se llama MyZone es porque a los estudiantes se les brindan varias opciones o “zonas” para diferentes actividades. Los estudiantes pueden jugar juegos como baloncesto, voleibol y wall ball en el gimnasio. Pueden aprender a cocinar, tocar música y hacer arte. Los estudiantes pueden pasar el rato afuera, lanzar una pelota de fútbol americano o patear una pelota de fútbol. Y siempre existe la opción de relajarse, disfrutar de refrigerios o recibir ayuda con la tarea. Y luego… están los videojuegos (X-box, PS4, Nintendo Switch), 9 cuadrados, futbolín, gaga-ball, cornhole y muchas sonrisas y risas.

 ¿CUÁLES SON LAS REGLAS DE SEGURIDAD?

MyZone sigue todas las reglas del Código de conducta en las escuelas secundarias Mountain View y Chehalem Valley. Si un estudiante recibe disciplina en la escuela, es posible que no se le permita asistir a MyZone. Si un estudiante es suspendido de la escuela, no se le permitirá asistir a MyZone hasta que se le permita regresar a la escuela.

 MyZone NO PERMITE...

      • Armas de cualquier tipo  

      • Posesión o uso de cualquier tipo de drogas o alcohol.

      • Peleas, acoso o intimidación de cualquier tipo

      • Contacto físico inadecuado (agarrar, abofetear, tocar, etc.)

      • Lenguaje ofensivo, gestos con las manos o cualquier otro tipo de movimiento             

        obsceno.

      • Tomar fotografías de cualquier persona en MyZone (con o sin permiso) NOTA: El    

        personal de NCC puede tomar fotografías promocionales de las actividades de

        MyZone, pero solo usará esas fotografías con el consentimiento de los

        padres/tutores.

        • Uso inapropiado de cualquier tecnología, incluidos teléfonos celulares personales

         y computadoras portátiles. (Se recomienda a los estudiantes que se mantengan

         alejados de los teléfonos celulares mientras estén en MyZone)

El Directora de MyZone puede suspender o sacar permanentemente a los estudiantes de MyZone. Se notificará a las escuelas y a los padres cuando un estudiante haya sido sacado de MyZone por cualquier período de tiempo.

Para mayor seguridad de los estudiantes, las puertas exteriores están cerradas con llave y todos los visitantes deben registrarse con el personal de MyZone antes de ingresar al programa. La instalación cuenta con baños separados disponibles tanto para los estudiantes como para el personal. A los estudiantes solo se les permite usar el baño uno a la vez.

 Los padres pueden recoger a los estudiantes en cualquier momento durante MyZone. Sin embargo, una vez que un estudiante sale de MyZone, no se le permitirá regresar el mismo día.

¿CÓMO INSCRIBO A MI ESTUDIANTE EN MYZONE?

Todos los estudiantes deben de registrarse en línea a través de este formulario y tener el permiso de los padres/tutores para poder asistir a MyZone. Este permiso también es necesario para viajar en el autobús hacia y desde MyZone. Puede obtener un formulario de permiso en la oficina principal de MVMS o CVMS o en Northwest Christian Church.
